At Kyocera HTL, we pride ourselves on fostering young talent and providing meaningful experiences that inspire the next generation of innovators. Over the past two weeks, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ayo Ariyibi, an exceptional work experience student from The Emmbrook School, to our team. Ayo’s dedication and enthusiasm made a lasting impression on everyone at our facility, and we are excited to share his journey with us.

A Year 12 student from The Emmbrook School, where he is currently pursuing A Levels in Maths, Physics, and Economics, alongside an AS Level in Further Maths. With a keen interest in Mechanical Engineering, Ayo’s ambition and passion for technology are evident in his academic pursuits. His time at Kyocera SGS and HTL has only further solidified his aspirations to excel in this field.

A Week of Discovery and Innovation:

During his work experience at Kyocera SGS & HTL, Ayo had the opportunity to immerse himself in a variety of tasks and projects that gave him a taste of the engineering world. Here are some of the highlights of his time with us:

Farnborough International Airshow 2024

Ayo kicked off his experience helping out with our VIP Customer Days and a visit to the Farnborough International Airshow 2024, where he witnessed cutting-edge technology and innovations in aerospace. This event fuelled his excitement for engineering and provided him with insights into the industry’s future.

Hands-On Experience on the Shop Floor

Ayo was not afraid to roll up his sleeves and get involved in various tasks on the shop floor. From labelling and packing boxes to shadowing team members, he embraced every opportunity to learn. He also gained valuable insights into sandblasting and sonic washing in our Hardcoatings Technologies facility. One of the standout moments of Ayo’s experience was assisting with changing the targets in our PVD Coating Chamber. This task, which requires attention to detail and technical know-how, highlighted Ayo’s ability to take on complex responsibilities with confidence.

A Bright Future Ahead:

His time with us was marked by curiosity, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for engineering. His ability to quickly learn and contribute to our projects made him a valued member of our team during his short stay. We have no doubt that Ayo has a bright future ahead in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

A Fond Farewell:

As Ayo’s work experience comes to an end, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for his contributions to Kyocera HTL. His energy and enthusiasm left a positive impact on our team, and we would be delighted to welcome him back anytime.

Ayo’s work experience was a testament to his talent and potential. We are proud to have played a part in his journey and look forward to seeing all the remarkable achievements he will accomplish in the future. Ayo, thank you for spending your time with us, and best of luck with your studies and future endeavours in Mechanical Engineering!
